It is important to know the secret behind the secret, but so is this. The following list helps to create a wrong perception about spiritual reality:

- A spiritual connection and oneness with God is what we ultimately seek not physical things.
- God is not here to give us satisfaction through material desire, but to fill our hearts and souls desire through love and oneness.
- Only when we consciously experience this universal, unconditional love will we find the secret behind the secret, and true abundance from which everything flows.

Probably heard this kind of talk before, right? The last one seems a bit wrong to me because the secret behind the secret does not work through your conscious awareness, but through unconscious mechanisms, which we are all quite oblivious to. Find out more about the secret behind the secret here

Although there is truth in the above list I think there are a couple of misconceptions about what God is.

Misconception 1: Gods purpose is total love.

Wrong, love is a human concept. Good and evil are both bound within Gods love, as all things are bound within. If this was not the truth we would not develop toward enlightenment as we would have no relative experience to bring us there. Thus, true love exist only in terms of karmic experience as we are lead to higher consciousness.

Misconception 2: Love and oneness is our ultimate experience, (only partly true) and materialism is not important. No way!

How come?

All things are God. This means God is everything inside and out, good or bad, love or hate, beauty or ugliness, pain or joy, oneness or separateness, you or me: everything without exception! If everything is connected in oneness, including ourselves, then God, being everything, is the only truth there can be, and we are all not meant to experience the same things. The one aspect that would seriously hinder the infinite possibilities for the “God-thing” to manifest itself would be if we were all meant to experience the same things.

This means not all of us are meant to experience none materialism, love and oneness. Perhaps ultimately this is indeed God’s goal: but for now it does not seem that all people understand, or have even experienced a lot of love in their lives, and probably never will. Knowing what Gods goals are, or what God is at all, and where God comes from, is like asking yourself: who am I, where did I come from, and where am I going?

The truth is that we make a lot of things up, and “truth” is that which we think is important to know, or create, facts are just interpretations of reality. Humans have invented love and hate based on emotions. Emotions are all part of the fun, God uses emotions to spice up our lives, to make it more interesting!

How come?

Because if God is everything, than God wants variety, because God is bored, and wants to have fun. But does God know that God is God at all? Or is God just trying to find out what God really is through a variety of instances of itself, which we are a part of, and call reality? Are all the trillions of instances, pieces of the universe, adding up to the one great God thing?

No one really knows what the hell is going on here! Not even just a little bit.

We are all so positive that we know what life is all about that we totally miss the fact that we are surrounded by a mind-numbing, beautiful mystery called reality that not even the greatest minds can explain.

No book can tell you what God really is, but the secret behind the secret will show you ways of tapping into this divine creation energy.

There definitely seems to be divine laws at work in our universe, and the secret behind the secret will unravel some of them. Life is pretty much a free for all in terms of your personal “ego-verse” experience.

So are material things bad? No, if you want them, have fun! Yes! It is just as godlike and right to desire material things, as anything else: God is desire as well as humility. If you want enlightenment, sounds good to me. Go for it! God wants you to be enlightened too. And if God is everything, than we are God too, so start creating: good or bad you shall receive.

The point is this: there seems to be a way the universe, or God, gives you these things: any of these things you want! One way is through the law of attraction in the secret behind the secret. My tip: don’t think about it too much, live in the moment as much as you can, get the secret behind the secret, and go for it!

What Do You Really Want?

Ever wonder why some people never get anything good out of their life? That’s because they don’t know what they want in the first place!

You must be specific in your passions, then you must focus all your efforts on that particular desire.

Some people don’t really know what they want. For one moment they’re excited over a particular thing or endeavor. The next thing you know they completely abandon it; either because they lose their interest or because they give up when they encounter a little problem. The people who always change their minds and those who give up easily when the going gets tough will never get anywhere. They have not experienced a spiritual awakening. Maybe at this moment, you are a little bit confused. You don’t seem to know what you really want in life. You might want to consider these to start your spiritual journey:

1. What makes your heart beat with excitement?
2. What makes you happy?
3. What are you consistently thinking of day & night?
4. What do you want to do for the rest of your life?
5. What do you enjoy doing?
6. What are your obsessions?
7. What things make you jump with joy?

To help you out, just follow these steps.

1. Write on a piece of paper all your possible answers for the seven questions above. Write anything, even seemingly unimportant ones.

2. Encircle 5 to 7 items that interests you the most.

3. Then evaluate and choose with your heart the one and only thing that is worthy to spend all your time and resources with. The choice you make should really be something that brings out the best in you.

Other than the exercise above, you could also ask your close friends and relatives about their personal dreams. You could also read books and surf the net to help you in your search.

Use your heart. Other people may disagree with you, but you should be firm with what you really want. Others may give comments or advice, but the final decision is always yours to make. You should focus on what you want, not what others want for you.

Then you have to constantly visualize and affirm your desires.

If you want to be a lawyer, visualize as one. Act like one. Think of what suit you’re wearing, the judge you’re convincing, the case you’re handling, and the courtroom you’re in. Visualize the evidences. Smell the victory. Make everything real.

Believe that you are what you are visualizing. So you want to be a lawyer? Tell yourself, ‘I’m the best lawyer in the world.’ Don’t say to yourself, ‘I will be the best lawyer in the world.’

Affirm strongly. Say ‘I am,’ not ‘I will,’ because ‘I will’ suggests something that will occur only in the future. You have to experience it NOW and not in the future.

You must sink into your subconscious your deepest desire. The subconscious mind can do what the conscious mind cannot.

Here’s an exercise.

1. Get a comfortable and peaceful place to rest.

2. Relax your whole body. Command every part of your body to relax starting from your feet up to your head.

3. Count back slowly from 20 to 1 while relaxing deeper and deeper with each count. Upon reaching 1, you are completely relaxed.

4. Now affirm your deepest desire. If you want to be a lawyer, say,’ I am the greatest lawyer in the world.’ As you’re saying that, picture yourself to be the best lawyer ever, winning every case you’ve come across. You may say ‘I am now explaining to the jury my winning proposition’ or anything that will affirm what you’re conceiving in your mind as of the moment.

5. After about 10 to 20 minutes of continuous confirmation and visualization, count slowly from 1 to 20. Upon counting, slowly be aware of your surroundings. Feel refreshed and invigorated after doing this exercise.

6. Repeat this exercise every day. You have just learned a very powerful technique to greatly enhance the power of visualization and affirmation by embedding it into the subconscious. What once is nearly impossible to achieve will become easier to reach from now on.

Most people nowadays have indeed become very unhappy and miserable. With everything that is happening around the world – natural calamities such as earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunami, etc., terrorism, and economic crisis – it would not be a surprise if people just give up hoping for a happy and bright future. It’s very easy to become unhappy when things don’t turn out the way we like. We feel angry and irritable. BURNOUT AND LACK OF PRODUCTIVE WORK

The keyword is “productive” for it gives a sense of fulfillment. The lack of it leads to a feeling of emptiness and lack of purpose in life.

Getting physically and mentally active may help overcome unhappiness. Get involved with something worthwhile, something that will give a sense of fulfillment or achievement.

THE FEAR OF REJECTION

It hurts when people reject us. It leaves a feeling of sadness and lowers our self-esteem. Rejection can show up in many forms. Some people express rejection by verbally saying that they do not like the person or his idea. Some express skepticism or ridicule the person presenting new ideas. Others try to form their own group and exclude those they dislike.

Rejection is also expressed non-verbally. Some adopt the closed and defensive stance and refuse to listen to ideas by re-directing the flow of conversation. The thumbs-down sign is universally understood as rejection.

If this is the case, we should try to associate with other people who will accept us for what we are. Rejection should not put an end to our efforts. We should take it as a sign to do a re-examination and try another approach.

LIVING ACCORDING TO OTHER PEOPLE’S STANDARDS

This is a very common cause of unhappiness. When someone cares too much about what other people think about him, he will have difficulties making his own decisions. They live their lives according to other people’s will and expectations. It’s hard to be happy if all we do is please others instead of ourselves.

We should be confident about ourselves. Cast fears aside. Just keep in mind that the things other people say or do does not demean your worth as a human being. Robert Louis Stevenson has this to say, “Don’t let your neighbor set your standards. Be yourself.” We feel joy when our self-worth rests quietly within us, not on the lips of others.

THE FEAR OF FAILURE

Failure to achieve important goals in life can lead to feelings of inadequacy and frustration. We should set goals that are realistic and achieveable in our lives. These goals should be meaningful to us; otherwise, we will only derive little happiness from achieving it. Goals should be set for all key aspects of our lives.

Start with a systematic plan to achieve goals. Begin implementing them and monitor the progress. Once we start to achieve our goals, we will find our happiness increasing. If life is not the way we like it, that shouldn’t be cause for unhappiness. Edward de Bono has this to say, “Unhappiness is best defined as the difference between our talents and expectations.” Too many expectations can really cause unhappiness; therefore, we should try to live a simple life – with simple wants and simple needs. More importantly, we must rise above everything that pulls us down and push our lives forward.

SINS AND CRIMES

Nobody is perfect. All of us commit mistakes. Some people may have unknowingly committed mistakes. However, a few people consciously live their lives in sins and immorality. These people have not fully realized the serious consequences of doing sins.

Sins and crimes are cause of unhappiness. Crime does not pay. Criminals get caught and eventually, justice catches up with them. Violence begets violence. Truly, it is difficult to find a bright future behind bars or six feet below the ground. For some who manage to get away with their crimes, guilt will most likely haunt their conscience and can cause them to feel miserable for the rest of their lives.

ALCOHOL AND DRUGS

Some people think that happiness can be attained through alcohol or drugs. Consequently, they resort to these substances thinking they can escape from the troubles and worries of life. They are dead wrong! It is like escaping from small fire to hell.

Alcohol is a mood-altering substance and is a depressant. In fact, some doctors prescribe moderate amounts of alcohol as tranquilizer or sedative. A drink or two can improve health and is very relaxing. However, greater quantities can be fatal. Alcohol abuse ruins both the mind and the body. Anyone who drinks too much is risking the hazards of accident caused by loss of coordination, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, liver disease and related disorders. Then you have drugs which destroys the mental health of the user. Today, we witness many examples of various forms of social disintegration and chaos due to the worldwide surge of drug addiction. DESTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS

These are useless acts and seldom accomplish any positive results. If we have to give feedback, we must make sure it is constructive and useful. Criticism is one of the greatest causes of limitations in our lives.

We should learn to be tolerant of the behavior of others even if it does not fit the pattern of our opinions. Learn to savor the differences between people. Imagine how dull the world would be if we all thought, spoke, and acted the same way!

If we are on the receiving end of destructive criticisms, it is normal to feel upset but we should evaluate the purpose or motive of the person who expressed his thoughts. If we are upset with people who do not have anything good to say about us, we might as well avoid them. Let us try to associate with people that naturally please us. More importantly, always keep in mind that we cannot please everybody; hence, we should not let destructive criticisms be a cause of worry and sleepless nights.

Take the time to examine your feeling. Why are you really unhappy? The key is knowing the cause. Once you know the cause, you’ll be able to work out a plan to overcome it. That is the way to happiness.
